  2. The Primavera Foundation provides pathways out of poverty through safe, affordable housing, workforce development, and neighborhood revitalization. To learn more about our vision, values, and goals, visit our Our Purpose section.

  3. Primavera Foundation began in 1983 as a response to the growing numbers of homeless individuals on the streets of Tucson, Arizona. Gordon Packard and Nancy Bissell organized a large group of volunteers to begin the St. Martin’s Soup Kitchen, which later closed. They later moved on to renovate Pueblo Court into supportive housing for the mentally ill, and raised funds to build the Primavera Men’s Shelter, which still provides shelter to up to nearly 100 men each night, 365 days per year.   5. In the 2018-2019 fiscal year, our funding came from the following sources:

    • 47% - government grants & contracts
    • 27% - contributions & fundraising
    • 13% - earned revenue
    • 9% - NeighborWorks® America
    • 3% - donated meals
    • 1% - miscellaneous
