Primavera Foundation has earned an “exemplary” rating – the highest mark possible – in the latest onsite assessment from NeighborWorks America, a congressionally chartered nonprofit organization that supports community development nationwide.
The Primavera Foundation is collaborating with other local non-profits and government agencies to better help people overcome employment barriers such as homelessness, previous incarceration, substance use and a lack of educational opportunities.
Refugio – which means “shelter” in Spanish – strives to provide the men with more than just nutritious, flavorful food.
"I wanted to be a great mother. More than anything, I wanted my daughter, Leilani, to grow up with a stable life, with stable housing. I wanted to provide for my daughter, but I didn’t know how.
My aunt told me about the Primavera Foundation. Although I had five years to save for a down payment on my first house, I am proud to say that I reached my goal in just two years. I no longer felt like I was all on my own.
For the first time, my daughter and I have our own place.
We have stability."
