Primavera would not be able to help our community if it weren't for the dedication of over 1500 volunteers. We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, and are always in need of new individuals or groups.

Shelter Intake and R & R (Relief and Referral)

Both intake and R & R volunteers work directly with clients and require good communication skills. Intake workers interview clients and complete assessment forms to admit new clients at the shelter, while R & R volunteers assist client's emergency needs by passing out toiletry items and mail to our clients.

Meal Teams

This position is ideal for people who enjoy seeing immediate results from their volunteer effort. Teams purchase, prepare and serve meals to program participants in one of our shelters or transitional housing units. We accept hot meals and sack lunches. Breakfast and lunch teams are our highest need.

Casa Paloma

Volunteers at our Women's Transitional Home and Drop-In Service cook breakfast, organize the clothes closet, and assist the two directors of Casa P on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Program Residence Cleaning/Maintenance

This position assists the resident managers in maintaining apartments and community living areas.

Blue Door Voucher Store

The voucher store is open Tuesday and Friday mornings for program participants who need free clothing. Volunteers keep the store inventory in good order and assist the store manager. Volunteers can help out with the running of the store during store hours, as well as maintain upkeep and sorting during off hours.

Fundraising/Committees

This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals with contacts in the Tucson community as well as those who've just moved to town. It's a great chance to meet new people while helping those in need.

Donation Drive Coordinators

There are several areas within the agency that are always in need of specific donation items (e.g. toiletries, tooth brushes, socks, non-perishable foods). Volunteers are welcome to create their own special donation drive within their community to supply these items. This is an extremely flexible volunteer opportunity that can include many people.

Skill-Specific

There are many volunteer areas open to individuals with specific expertise or professional experience (e.g. computer input, workshop facilitators, job skills developers, arts and craft teachers, accounting/clerical).
